Today many publishers (as well as companies like Google) are digitizing millions of books and making them available on the web (either through fee-based access or through complimentary access). However, it will be many years (if ever) before they will reach their goals for digitizing every book ever published.
Additionally, many libraries are loaning their books to these companies in exchange for little more than the promise of fulfilling a goal of providing greater access to researchers, all-the-while watching their acquisitions budgets shrink ever further. Bridge Publishing Group LLC wants everyone (the library, the researcher, and yes, Bridge Publishing Group LLC!) to benefit when a library allows one or more of its books to be digitized for reprinting or electronic access.
For many titles there may be a potential market for selling reprint and/or electronic editions to libraries and other organizations around the globe. In such cases, Bridge Publishing Group LLC can provide a source of revenue to your library should you be interested in working with us to make these reprint/electronic editions available to others. By simply loaning us your book(s) we will absorb the costs associated with digitizing them. Once digitized we will offer reprint and/or electronic editions in our company catalog and through other marketing efforts. In exchange, we will provide your library with a percentage of the net profits of the books you loan to us. It's that simple.
How do we handle the books loaned to us? Many libraries and rare book sellers loan us unique works which we carefully scan in a bound book scanner and then return in the same condition in which they were received by us. For some who own multiple copies of certain works or copies they do not wish to have returned, we'll do our best to sell these copies and provide your library with a percentage of the net sale of the original copy, as well as a percentage of the net sale of any reprint/electronic editions. We always look for the best win/win situation for everyone involved.
While Bridge Publishing Group LLC aims to provide reprint and/or electronic editions of law and law-related titles to researchers worldwide, we understand many libraries may own unique collections that are not necessarily law or law-related but yet deserve digital preservation for future generations. In these instances we want to loan our expertise in these situations. Therefore, we will gladly consider digitizing these works for your library for a fee or under another arrangement that works in the best interest of Bridge Publishing Group LLC and your library.
